As my luck has it, the one time I am in Chicago and want to go for a walk along Michigan Avenue, there are large gatherings of people and police making crossing the street at certain places very challenging if not impossible (barricades set up, etc.). My question to one of the members of the Chicago Police force of what’s going on was answered with
“A guy from out of town is visiting”
The “guy from out of town” was nobody less than Chinese President Hu Jintao…
